How adorable is this cactus garden?! Seriously, this is like my dream. I have no idea why but I’ve always been fascinated with all kinds of cacti and succulent species. They’re just so damn cute. On our second day in LA, we headed to the Huntington Library and Gardens near Pasadena. When I last came to LA a few years ago, this was one of my favorite places that we went. The space is huge and The Huntington houses so many different gardens including a Chinese garden, Japanese garden, rose garden, and of course my favorite, the desert garden. All of them are absolutely stunning and there are so many different species within the grounds, that it’s hard to imagine that you’re in LA with all of them in such close proximity! You could literally spend an entire day here wandering through the different gardens and library collections. It would even be so relaxing to just pack lunch and have a cute picnic on the grounds as well.
For this casual morning strolling through the gardens, I opted for this easy mini dress from Verge Girl. It was really hot and sunny out this morning, so what better thing to wear than a throw on and go little dress. Of course to go along with the whole desert theme, I paired it with my vintage cowboy boots. I’ve been obsessed with cowboy boots for a while now, and they’re everything for this summer.
Before leaving for California, I made an LA playlist with easy breezy tunes made for driving with the windows down and some more upbeat and fun songs too. So I thought I would share with you a song this week from my playlist! Whenever I think of LA, I think of the laid back beachy vibes, the most gorgeous sunsets and palm trees, and of course ending those LA nights with a glass of California wine. We literally did that almost every night haha. Now put all of that into a song, and you get California by The Lagoons. I feel like this is such a quintessential Cali song and if you’ve heard it before, you’ll understand why. Everything from the melody to the lyrics has that easy going vibe that we love about California. This song was definitely played a lot while we drove along the PCH to Malibu, as well as while we were stuck in LA traffic, and every time I listened to it, I felt so at peace and thankful just to be enjoying each and every moment.
Next week, I take you guys along to the desert! And I’m so so excited because it’s literally my favorite place ever. Stay tuned!
