Happy New Year everyone! 2018 was a whirlwind of a year for me, filled with lots of change (for the better) and putting myself and my happiness first. I couldn’t be happier with how the year went, and I’m looking forward to what 2019 brings me! I wish all of you the best in the new year as well!
To finish off 2018, my family and I decided to do a little road trip for the holidays in the UK. It was so weird to be away from home for Christmas, but I can never say no to travelling and a new adventure. We flew into London and drove up to Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, then back down to Liverpool and London again. Here are some pictures from my trip and some of my recommendations of things to do/see. If you want to see more clips, definitely check out my Instagram “Travel” Story Highlights!

It’s time to celebrate the first official long weekend of the summer! If you’re in Canada, you’re celebrating Canada Day this weekend, and if you’re in America, you’ll be celebrating the 4th of July in only a few days. So of course this week, I thought it would be fun to put together a little Canada Day/4th of July lookbook. These are just ideas of what I would wear to celebrate the holiday depending on the activity/where I’m going. And in case you’re wondering, this year for the Canada Day long weekend, I’ll be heading up to Algonquin Park for a few days of good ole’ camping. Hiking trails, beach days, bonfires, and BBQs, I’m comin’ for ya!

I’m SO excited for this week’s blog post because if you know me, you know that I pretty much live for music festivals! Music festivals combine the two things I love most (and pretty much what my blog is all about) – music and fashion, in the most laid-back and fun environment. There’s something for everyone at a music festival, whether it be the music, food, fashion, or just the good ole company. Now I know I might be a bit late since quite a few music festivals have already happened this year, but better late than never right? When Coachella took place back in April, I wrote a blog post sharing a few of my festival tips (read it HERE!), and I also promised a full festival lookbook, so this is what you’re getting this week! Below are three festival ready looks that I’ll be rocking at Osheaga Music Festival in August this year. I’ll be breaking down each look plus giving you some tips at the end on what to wear and pack so you can stay comfy all weekend long. Remember, music festivals are all about having fun with your friends while seeing your favourite bands perform, so these outfits are styled with that in mind.

As promised last week when I posted my Top 5 Albums of the Year, this week we’re talking about my Top 5 Concerts of 2017! Anyone that knows me, knows that I’m an avid and very frequent concert-goer. I mean, it’s the only way to FEEL the music you love, up close and personal with those who make it, while being surrounded by those who love it just as much as you do. In 2017, I was lucky enough to have the chance to see so many amazing artists and bands that narrowing this list down to only 5 was quite difficult. These five shows are the ones where not only did the band put on a performance worthy of a standing ovation, but also helped to cultivate a warm community at the show and made me feel the most sense of belonging. Since 2017 is coming to an end and every other online publication is publishing their “Best Of” lists, I decided I would do one as well. Since this blog is a space where I love to talk about music, today I’ll be counting down my Top 5 Favourite Album Releases from this past year. Continue reading “my top 5 album releases of 2017”
Welcome back to my Iceland posts! This is part two of our adventures, so if you haven’t read the first part, check it out here! In the first two days, we explored Reykjavik and the Blue Lagoon. The next two days were full of excitement and even more adventure as we drove along the southeast coast of Iceland and the famous Golden Circle route. Continue reading “Iceland 2017 part 2”
A few weeks ago I finally had the opportunity to go to Iceland! The country of fire and ice had been on my bucket list for the last two years ever since seeing pictures of Jökulsárlón (glacial lagoon) online, so you can imagine the excitement I had built up inside me as I counted down the days until I got to leave for this magical country. My biggest fear was that I had such high expectations for the beauty of Iceland after everything I had seen online, that I would be let down by it in person. But boy was I wrong. Iceland is hands down the most beautiful country I have ever visited. The landscape of horses and sheep wandering through never-ending grassy fields, mossy mountains, and waterfalls here and there nestled within the mountains, is enough to make any person never want to wake up from this dreamland.
I thought I would do something different with this blog post and recap my experience in Iceland. I’ll be splitting it up into two posts so that I can go into more detail but still keep it at a reasonable length. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t give you some Icelandic song recommendations at the end. Continue reading “Iceland 2017 part 1”
