Our Apartment Tour!

I just want to start off this post by saying that I hope everyone is currently at home safe and sound. And if you’re an essential worker that still needs to go out daily, THANK YOU! The uncertainty of this time has been so scary for most of us, but I know that I’m just trying to keep my head up and take each day as it comes.

With that said, I know we are all spending our days indoors so now more than ever, it’s important to make sure that you are in love with your space! Having a nice, clean and styled apartment that matches my aesthetic has honestly made me feel SO much better these days. It sounds so weird to say, but sometimes I’ll just stare at little corners of my apartment and feel so happy and giddy inside. For example, the other day, I’m pretty sure I just stood there and stared at my couch and the basket wall piece I created above it for a solid 5 minutes and the entire time I was just thinking how much I love my space and how happy I am with it. Those little joys right now matter more than ever. So if you are looking for ways to kill time during this pandemic, I highly recommend sprucing up your space! Whether it be rearranging or reorganizing your furniture to change things up, or doing some at home DIY home decor, I promise you it will put you in such a good mood.

I’ve posted here and there on my Instagram stories some sneak peeks of my place, and promised you guys a more in-depth apartment tour. Well alas, a lot of people have been asking so here it finally is! I’m going to share with you all the details of everything in my place and leave links to all the products so if you like something, you can get it too!

Couch: EQ3 Skye Sofa in Grade 600 Squave Canvas leather with Walnut wooden legs

Side Table: Structube Bora Table

Jute Rug: Urban Outfitters Samira Rug (similar)

Macrame Dreamcatcher: Homesense and baskets are thrifted

Starting off with my living room, the first area you see when you first enter our place and one of the areas I’m most proud of in our home! I will say that our vision for the living room changed several times. At first we were settled on a little light grey couch, but then my boyfriend decided that the couch was too small and not comfortable enough for him to sleep in. So then we moved on to a caramel brown leather couch that we both saw online and loved. We were planning to make the living room more of a western/desert theme with the brown couch, a red tribal/aztec patterned carpet,= with wooden accents. However, when we finally went in store to see this couch, we had second thoughts. The leather didn’t seem like very great quality and although the sales people tried to sell us that all the scratches and scuffs on the couch gave it that “worn-in look”, we weren’t feeling it. We wanted something of higher quality and preferably made in Canada. So the search for the perfect couch continued. Then my boyfriend came across a place called EQ3. You can choose your own fabric/leather of choice as well as the legs to customize your own couch, AND they were all made in Canada! We ended up visiting the showroom and after explaining to the saleslady our colour scheme and aesthetic, she helped us pick out the perfect couch for our space! I will say that our couch was definitely pricier than what we initially wanted to spend and it look several weeks to arrive (keep in mind they’re custom made), but we are so happy with it!

The basket and dream catcher wall piece hanging above our couch was created by yours truly. I found the dream catcher for $20 at Homesense (Home Goods if you’re in the States) but I always see them on Etsy or you could even DIY one! I’ve also seen the hanging baskets all over Pinterest and love how unique it looks but I really wanted to incorporate the dream catcher so I decided on just hanging the dream catcher in the middle with the baskets all around. I’m so happy with how it turned out and it was super easy and affordable to do! I found all the baskets at my local thrift store it was about $5 for all of them.

Patterned Pillows: Urban Outfitters Sami Printed Throw Pillow

Woven Pillows: Urban Outfitters Gemma Fringe Throw Pillows

Throw Blanket: Urban Outfitters Aden Tufted Throw Blanket

Since our entire apartment is neutral, I wanted to add some pops of colour here and there. So we did that with these beautiful pillows on the couch. I love the tribal pattern on them and the dusty pink colour because it adds colour but in a more subtle way that isn’t too overwhelming. And the throw in the middle is obviously a necessity for late night cuddles on the couch.

Pampas Grass: we cut it ourselves but here’s some you can buy off Etsy

If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw a few months ago our adventures where we cut some pampas grass ourselves. If you look around your neighbourhood, you will most likely find some growing off the side of the road or the highway! We see it all the time. That’s the easiest (and cheapest) way to get yourself some pampas grass, but if you don’t have any near you, Etsy always has a ton.

Macrame Stool: Homesense (similar from Urban Outfitters)

Wooden Crate: KNAGGLIG Crate

This beautiful macrame stool in the corner of our living room was the first piece we ever bought for our place. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love and knew we needed it. And I will say that it’s pretty much served as our starting piece of inspiration for the rest of the home! As you can tell by now, our entire place is very boho/neutral vibes and this stool is the perfect example of that.

The wooden crate is from Ikea and is the perfect thing to store our vinyls! It was cheap and looks great with the rest of our place. If you’re looking for something to hold your records, I highly recommend picking up this crate and you can even paint it to match whatever aesthetic you’re going for.

Crystal Box Frames: Homesense (or DIY it yourself!)

For this little corner above the macrame stool, we thought these Crystal Box Frames were perfect stacked above each other on this vertical wall space. We found these at Homesense and unfortunately I don’t have a link to them, but these would be the perfect DIY to make yourself during this quarantine! You can get creative and have fun with it!

Speaking of crystals, if you know me then you know I have been collecting crystals for a few years now. When we moved into our apartment, I needed to find a space to display my collection and I think our plant stand is the perfect place! As you can see, I’ve placed them around my plants and when I fill the stand with more plants, the remaining crystals will also go around them. Call me crazy, but I feel like these crystals have been giving my plants all the positive energy for them to thrive! They have been doing so well by the window and growing like crazy. We hardly ever get any direct sunlight, but it’s the perfect place for our plants and crystals. I also have some of my larger crystals placed on our media unit that you probably saw above.

Small Dining Table: Ikea LERHAMN Table

Coasters: Anthropologie Agate Coasters

Our living/dining room space is literally one long area so we decided to get a small little table that would fit and be suitable for the two of us. Keeping with the whole neutral/white colour scheme, we picked up this cute little table from Ikea (and it took us FOREVER to build but let’s not talk about that haha). The chairs I already had from home and they matched perfectly!

Gold Moon Mirror: Urban Outfitters Crescent Moon Mirror

Vase: Homesense (similar) and Dried Floofs: Michael’s

Diffuser: Homesense (similar from Amazon)

Salt Lamp: Amazon

Feather Frame: Homesense (could easily DIY this similar to the crystal shadow boxes!)

Clear Glass Bowl: Thrifted (the perfect thing to hold my gold rings and earrings!)

Moving on to our bedroom! This little dresser and everything on and above it is probably my favourite spot in our bedroom. It houses all of my favourite things including my jewelry, diffuser, and Himalayan Salt Lamp. Sometimes at night when I’m just laying in bed, I’ll have my salt lamp on with the relaxing scent of my essential oil coming from my diffuser and it just relaxes me and ensures I’ll have a good nights sleep.

Night Stand: South Shore Primo Drawer Nightstand

Lamps: Urban Outfitters Mandy Table Lamp

Knitted Hanging: Homesense (so many similar ones on Etsy!)

Our bedside tables match our wooden dresser as they are all from the same collection by South Shore. We absolutely love them! They were much easier to build than Ikea furniture and look so chic. The lamps are from Urban Outfitters and are the perfect neutral table lamps that give a soft glow once you turn them on.

Bed Frame: Zinus Upholstered Platform Bed

Duvet Cover: Urban Outfitters Tufted Geo Duvet Cover

Sham Set: Tufted Geo Sham Set

For our duvet cover, we wanted something neutral (duh) but we didn’t want just plain white sheets. We found this textured cream one from Urban Outfitters and absolutely love it! I highly recommend checking our Urban Outfitters for super stylish duvet covers.

And that takes us to the end of this apartment tour! I hope you guys enjoyed it and maybe got a bit of inspiration for your own homes. Until next time, stay safe everyone, love you all!

  1. My boyfriend and I are getting ready to move into our first house together, so this blog post came at a perfect time as I’ve been looking for home decor inspo! I’m definitely going to check out EQ3 – I’m so picky about couches (which was surprising to me) so I love the idea of being able to customize one. And it’s a bonus that it’s Canadian!!
