you never wear shoes without your socks

We’re back to regularly scheduled programming with a new outfit post and new song. But let me first introduce you guys to these badass cowboy boots!! I’m obsessed. I found them on Nasty Gal over the holidays and I call them my boots of danger because they literally make me feel like a boss ass bitch when I wear them. You don’t wanna mess with me in these cause despite how stylish these boots are, they’re also very durable with a rock solid heel that – something to be weary of.

On to the rest of this outfit… first up THIS DRESS!! How adorable is this floral pattern?! I love how billowy it is but the mini length totally balances it out. The floral pattern is mixed in with a little bit of silver metallic to dress it up. This is a new arrival from Free People and I love pairing it alone, underneath an oversize sweater, layered with a cardigan or jacket, etc. Some of my gals at Free People have also been wearing it over jeans and funky patterned tights as well! Get your hands on this! So cute and so many ways to wear it.

For this week’s outfit, I decided to play up the pink in the dress by layering this huge pink faux fur coat on top. And because it’s winter, these knee high cowboy boots were the perfect finishing touch to keep my legs warm. Right after shooting these pictures, my boyfriend and I went to our local hardware store to pick up some things for our new place and I’m not gonna lie, I felt totally EXTRA in this outfit at the store but I loved every second of it.

Since I feel like my boots are the main focus of this week’s outfit, this week’s song has got to be Tokyo Police Club’s “Boots of Danger (Wait Up)”. If you’re not from Canada, I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the band, but if you are Canadian, I’m sure you know of them. They’re an indie rock band based out of Toronto and are quite big here in our local music scene. Boots of Danger (Wait Up) is a classic Tokyo Police Club song. Released in 2010, I’m sure every Torontonian knows of this song. Their music is fun and upbeat. Some good ole foot-stomping music. I would love to share more music from local artists and musicians in future blog posts, so stay tuned!

      1. Found it, alternative rock! Amazing discovery…
Some songs remind me of the band “Placebo”.
But to each his own style…
        I am deepening my research…
