know that it isn’t right, but you could be my one and only

Summer may be (un)officially over for now but that’s not going to stop me from wearing cute summer outfits and going to the beach! In fact, stay tuned for a lot more cute warmer weather appropriate outfits because I pre-shot a ton of looks for fear that the weather here in Toronto would dramatically drop overnight (if you’re from Canada, you know what I mean).

This week we are back at one of my favourite places in the city – the Bluffs. I come here all the time. It’s perfect year round: lay out at the beach during the summer and then watch the beautiful fall leaves change colour once it gets cooler! While the weather is still warm, we decided to enjoy a day relaxing by the smaller/more intimate beach area right beneath the large cliffs. I’ve actually never come to this particular spot to lay out, but it was perfect! If you hate large crowds, then this is your spot. It’s so much more relaxing and the view of the cliffs is actually more beautiful than the large beach IMO.

I decided to pair together this neutral look with this very cropped crop top from Princess Polly and this vintage wrap skirt that I thrifted recently. This top is so cropped that I wasn’t even sure how I wanted to style it at first. I figured the easiest way was to just pair it with something super high waisted. This skirt is perfect for that since it hits me way above the belly button. I think this top would actually look really cute with high-waisted flowy pants as well – either fun printed ones or even just plain white ones. For accessories, you guys know that I’ve also been loving the 90s mini bag trend as well, so I paired this beige one that I also thrifted recently with the outfit. Finished off with my go-to pair of round sunnies and slides, this look was perfect for our end-of-summer beach day.

Speaking of the end of summer, I’ve literally been listening to nothing but Clairo’s new album for the last few weeks. Actually, I feel like several of my last few blog posts have all featured songs with Clairo on them, and that’s just because I was hyping myself up for the release of her debut album “Immunity”. And boy did it not disappoint. I’m OBSESSED! The entire album is perfect from start to finish. I can even confidently say right now that this album is going to be one of my favourites of 2019.  I even got my boyfriend hooked on her as well, and as soon as she announced her tour, you know I pounced on those tickets quicker than lightning. One song in particular off her album that I just couldn’t get out of my head since the very first listen is Softly. The song is catchy, authentic, innocent and sweet and is all about Clairo confessing her feelings for another girl. Definitely give it a listen below and let me know what you think. I’m so excited for Clairo’s concert in November. Definitely the one highest on my most anticipated concerts list. Also let me know what songs you guys have been jamming to this summer? I would love to discover some new artists myself!
