My boyfriend and I just got back from a super fun trip in Prince Edward County this past weekend. We had really been craving a little getaway from the city, but didn’t want to go too far and since both of us had never been to PEC, we thought this was the perfect opportunity! Similar to the Niagara region, PEC is home to a ton of wineries so of course, the majority of our getaway revolved around touring different wineries and doing some tastings. Now I’m definitely no wine expert, but I gotta admit that all the wines we tasted were delicious! Our first stop was at the Sandbanks Winery where we also participated in their daily tour of the facilities. Seeing how they make their wine was such a cool experience! Sandbanks Estate Winery has so many different wines to try on their tasting menu, and based on your specific preferences, they will even recommend you some of their other wines that may not even be on their menu! I tend to go for white and rose wine so that’s what I mostly tried, and I ended up loving their Summer white wine so much that I ended up taking a bottle home myself. On our second day, we stopped by Huff Estates to do some more wine tastings. They also have daily tours at 11am but we decided to grab brunch instead and just do the tastings since we already did a tour the day before. Compared to Sandbanks, Huff Estates is definitely a more upscale/boutique feel. It is smaller and they may not have as many wines on their tasting menu, but what they do have, they do very well. Their wines have won numerous awards so you know you’re trying some of the best. We had so much fun and learned so much trying all these wines!
For our outing at Sandbanks Winery, I decided to keep my outfit pretty simple with this white linen crop top and gingham pants. I planned my outfit around these new Mejuri earrings from their Croissant collection which launches today! I love how these earrings are quite bold, but they’re still simple enough to wear on an everyday basis. With that said, my whole outfit was inspired by French dressing – simple pieces that fit really well and are super stylish. I also feel like they tend to wear very classic colours like white, red and navy so I tried to keep to that same colour palette with this look. Plus, how perfect is gingham for summer?! Now I feel like I just need a beret and some red lipstick to finish off this whole outfit! I had such a fun time touring Sandbanks winery in this outfit, now I just need to head to France and tour some of those French wineries!
Since this week’s outfit is inspired by French dressing, I decided to feature a song by one of my favourite French producers – Petit Biscuit. I’m pretty sure I’ve featured his music on here before, and you guys may know him from his popular song Sunset Lover. But he just released a new song called We Were Young and I’m obsessed! This is such a fun, upbeat and summer-y song, perfect for those long summer drives.
Let me know if you’ve ever visited a winery and what your favourite type of wine is!
