We are in the middle of summer and I’m definitely feeling the heat! This is the perfect time to wear all the cute little dresses that your heart desires. I love my collection of vintage 90s mini floral dresses, but I also can’t help myself with all the feminine dresses that are so on trend right now. It’s really in the details that makes these dresses so sweet: puff sleeves, sweetheart necklines, the daintiest little patterns and perfect pastel colours. The dress that I’m wearing here encompasses all of that! This one is from Australian online store Verge Girl and if you’re looking for adorable, feminine dresses and tops, I highly recommend this website. I’ve been obsessed with browsing on there recently. I swear, Australian labels just do the whole laid-back and girly thing so well. And if dresses aren’t really your thing, I’ve seen so many tops with the same details. Pair a cute one with high waisted denim shorts or a flowy maxi dress for that effortless vibe!

Another trend that I have been loving and having so much fun with is little 90s shoulder bags. I never thought I would be a fan of this trend because I’m someone who likes to carry their entire life inside their bag, but this trend is just so cute and goes so well with the warm weather when you wanna be a little more carefree. The size is good enough to just carry the essentials including a small wallet or cardholder, some cash, chapstick and phone. And I mean come on, when it’s that hot outside, do you really wanna be carrying around a huge purse that weighs a ton? I found this adorable shoulder bag in my favourite colour ever – dusty pink at my local thrift shop for $5. I love how the pink really complements the mint green colour of my dress. I can’t wait to style this bag in more upcoming posts! If you guys live in the Toronto area, definitely check out National Thrift. There aren’t as many locations and they aren’t as big as a Value Village or Salvation Army Thrift Store, but what National Thrift does really well is stock their handbag selection with some of the best on-trend styles. I found the pink one that I’m wearing there along with a vintage black micro handbag too! They also have a small selection of designer handbags that are worth checking out too.

Now we all know that summer is the season of loooove. Whether you’re in a summer fling or a committed long-term relationship, you can’t help but feel the love in the air once that warm weather hits. So this week I got you guys with my new favourite love song – SG Lewis & HONNE’s latest collab on their song Overdose. I’ve always been a huge fan of both SG Lewis’ and HONNE’s music and they have both collaborated with several other artists previously, so when they came out with this song together, of course I was all over it. HONNE are literally the masters of sweet and sultry love songs. So much so in fact I previously featured one of their songs on a Valentine’s Day post a while back. Overdose is no different. The lyrics are reminiscent of your sweet talking lover whispering sweet nothings into your ear, combined with the infectious beats that SG Lewis is known for. A winning combination and definitely THE love song of the summer. Here’s wishing that all of you have a summer of love!
