If there’s one closet staple that everyone should own, it’s a great staple T-shirt. Pair it a million different ways from your classic jeans and a tee combo, to tying up your tee with dresses and skirts for a more feminine look, to layering a blazer on top for a casual Friday look at the office. The options for styling a great T-shirt are endless! You guys know that when it comes to T-shirts, I pretty much live in my vintage Harley tees. BUT I think I’ve found new my favourite with this Self Love tee from Rectified Collection!
This T-shirt is such great quality – thick and soft, that I’ve taken it from wearing it around my house to wearing it out. And best of all, it’s ethically and sustainably made in Montreal, Canada! I love supporting other small Canadian businesses, and Rectified is right up my alley especially with their emphasis on caring for our planet. If you want to get the Self Love tee for yourself, you can use my code “VIC15” for 15% off your order at checkout. They also have a few other cute designs for you to choose from too!
I love their Self Love tee because it’s such a perfect reminder of how important it is to care for ourselves in all aspects of our life – from physical, to mental, to emotional. Physically, self love can mean simply letting your hair down at the end of the day, taking a relaxing bath, throwing on your favourite comfy PJs, and giving yourself a facial or manicure. Mentally, self love is just being happy with who you are and accepting yourself for all of you. And finally, emotional self care to me is all about just being present in the moment. Letting those thoughts whether they’re positive or negative, come in, acknowledging them, and then letting them flow out. Knowing that in due time, things will work out the way they’re supposed to so to just enjoying each moment as it comes.
A song that really encompasses what self love is all about is Corinne Bailey Rae’s Put Your Records On. There are so many amazing songs out there about this topic from strong female artists, so picking one this week was pretty hard. But this song is such a classic and also has that perfect summertime vibe so I thought it was fitting. I remember first listening to this song back in 2006ish and being obsessed with it. This song is all about being yourself and really embracing who you are. It’s a reminder to not worry so much, to just enjoy the moment and that you will figure it out as you go. Give the song a listen below if you haven’t yet. It’s guaranteed to put you in a great mood and on the right path to your own self love journey.
And if you have any self love tips to share, let me know! I would love to hear 🙂
