I can’t believe it’s finally SPRING! It definitely has been a long time coming, but now that it’s here, I couldn’t be happier. Last week I went outside with only a denim jacket on top for the first time in months, I drove while basking in the hot sun beating down on me through the windows, and when I got home at 7:30pm it was still light out. I honestly haven’t felt this good in a while. So for this week’s outfit, I decided to dress up (only a bit) now that I’m finally in the mood to do so.
What better way to dress up any outfit than by incorporating some silk and satin? I’ve noticed satin blouses pretty much everywhere recently! What I love most about them is how they look extra glowy when the light or sun hits it. It instantly makes you look like an angel. Imagine being decked out in a beautiful satin blouse during a romantic sunset. SWOON. The one I’m wearing is from Boohoo (and is super affordable!) and I love all of the details on it. The cut-out in the front, the ruching, the high neck and voluminous sleeves, but most of all can we talk about how gorgeous the open-back is?! I’m a sucker for anything with an open-back, it’s so sexy but in the subtlest way. I truly believe that showing off your back is underrated. Since my style is pretty casual, I opted for one of my go-to pairs of light wash vintage denim to dress down the blouse. This is such a pretty look for the Spring when you want to feel a bit more dressed up, perfect for date night!
Speaking of date night, a few weeks ago, I dragged my boyfriend to the movies to see Five Feet Apart. We wanted a low-key Saturday date night and we both hadn’t been to the movies in a while. I had seen the trailer for Five Feet Apart before, but honestly I didn’t have very high hopes for it since the trailer looked like a cheesy romance with mediocre acting. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The only reason I wanted to see this movie was because it reminded me of The Fault in Our Stars which I love (Ansel Elgort anyone????!!), and I thought “If there’s a chance that this movie can make me cry, then why not”. As you can tell, I love a sappy love story. In fact, I literally judge how good a movie is solely based on how much it can make me cry. And Five Feet Apart definitely did the trick!
If you’re a fan of The Fault in Our Stars, you definitely need to check out Five Feet Apart as well. I actually loved the film so much that the next day I ended up re-watching The Fault in Our Stars because it put me in such a sappy love story mood. It’s definitely the same genre and even the general premise of both movies are similar (teenage love story revolving around cancer). In fact, both movies are so similar even down to the music featured in the films. As I was in the theater watching Five Feet Apart, M83’s song “Wait” started playing during one of those tear jerking scenes. Of course, every time I hear this song it almost brings tears to my eyes because I automatically remember it playing in another tear-jerking scene in the Fault in Our Stars. Naturally, I couldn’t help myself and those tears started rolling down both cheeks. Does anyone else hate when you’re crying during a movie and your bf looks over at you to see what’s up? Like dude, just let me watch and cry in peace! Haha that’s how I feel all the time. Anyways, if you’re in the mood for an emotional song this week, definitely give M83’s “Wait” a listen below. Don’t forget to also check out Five Feet Apart in theaters now!
