We’ve been having a few more sunnier days around here. And despite the fact that temperatures are still below freezing, I’ll take it! That just means that the flowers are about to bloom soon and SPRING is around the corner!

For this week’s outfit I wanted to incorporate Spring pastel colours into an outfit that’s still appropriate for the last few weeks of winter. For me, dressing in fun colours like this automatically makes me more excited for the warmer days ahead. I decided to pair this oversized pink sweater with a pair of pale green plaid pants. The sweater is definitely thick and cozy enough to keep you warm if it’s still cold where you live. Sweaters in pastel colours are my favourite thing right now, and they can easily transition into Spring as well layered over a flowy dress or with a floral skirt! The plaid pants I’m wearing are from Brandy Melville, and I swear I have about 4 pairs of these pants in different colours and plaid patterns. I’ve been obsessed with plaid pants ever since the Fall, so I love that I found this pair because my obsession is still going strong and these ones are the perfect pair to carry on that obsession into Spring! If you have a Brandy Melville near you, I highly suggest picking up a pair of their plaid Valentina pants. They’re such a nice, soft and thick material!

So besides the fact that the days are getting a bit longer and sunnier, another thing that I love right now is that so many bands are releasing new singles! I’m pretty sure it’s just a tease to get us hyped up for all of the summer music festivals and tours that they’ll be on. So this week I had to share the newest single from one of my FAVOURITE band… LOCAL NATIVES! If you’ve been following my blog since the very beginning, you’ll understand what exciting news this is. My very first blog post featured a Local Natives song, and I’ve also mentioned them many times throughout various blog posts as well.

A few days ago out of nowhere, they dropped their first single in over two years titled Cafe Amarillo. It was such a nice surprise and it honestly couldn’t have come at a better time. If you can’t tell how excited I am, I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever shared a song this new on here. Just goes to show you how much I fell in love with this song the instant I heard it. The song sounds new, but familiar. It does what Local Natives does so well, and that’s the layered vocal harmonies. It’s just beautiful the way they do it. Combined with the grooviest bassline and simple guitar riffs, Cafe Amarillo will definitely have your feet tapping along.

Even though Local Natives’ new single has only been out for a few days, I already know this song will be on heavy rotation for the rest of the Winter and into Spring as well. They’re also embarking on a US/Canada tour this Spring so make sure to check them out! These guys are even more amazing live when you can really witness the intricate details and layerings of their sound in real life. Watch the beautiful music video for Cafe Amarillo below!
