Happy New Year everyone! 2018 was a whirlwind of a year for me, filled with lots of change (for the better) and putting myself and my happiness first. I couldn’t be happier with how the year went, and I’m looking forward to what 2019 brings me! I wish all of you the best in the new year as well!
To finish off 2018, my family and I decided to do a little road trip for the holidays in the UK. It was so weird to be away from home for Christmas, but I can never say no to travelling and a new adventure. We flew into London and drove up to Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, then back down to Liverpool and London again. Here are some pictures from my trip and some of my recommendations of things to do/see. If you want to see more clips, definitely check out my Instagram “Travel” Story Highlights!

Amazing view of the London Eye and the Thames river
Of course you have to go check out Buckingham Palace!Literally my heaven. Harrods is just as gorgeous on the outside as it is inside. I may have even spoiled myself here. Definitely make a stop here if you want to do some luxury shopping. With the VAT refund, it’s much cheaper in the UK than in North America!Tower of London: I would definitely recommend a tour of this castle if you love learning about history! It’s beautiful here and you can also see the Crown jewels!

Dean Village: The cutest, most quaint little residential village. I want to move here asap.
More from Dean Village because it’s clearly just my favourite place in the world.Walking around Edinburgh and we found this beautiful church.
The Christmas markets here are so pretty! How nice is the Edinburgh Christmas Market?Outside my new house.JK. It’s Edinburgh castle!Edinburgh castle at nightThe Scotch Whiskey Tasting Experience: Such an informative and fun hour learning about whiskey from the different regions of Scotland. You also get to try some at the end. I definitely recommend if you love whiskey!View from the top of Arthur’s SeatIf you’re more adventurous and active, I highly recommend doing the Arthur’s Seat hike. I’m pretty out of shape so it took me an hour to get up (LOL), but the view of the city is beautiful at the top. So worth it. Beware it is EXTREMELY windy at the top, I was so afraid to take my phone out to take pictures cause I thought the wind would knock the phone out of my hand haha.

On our way from Edinburgh to Glasgow, we made a stop at Stirling Castle. If you’re looking for something less touristy and just as beautiful as Edinburgh castle, check out Stirling Castle! I think I liked this one even more 🙂

Loch Lomond National Park: a MUST SEE in Glasgow! I hear the views are beautiful here, but unfortunately it was so foggy when we went that we couldn’t see too far. The fog made for beautiful photos though! When the fog at Loch Lomond breaks and you can finally see a bit of the mountains in the background! This is one of my favourite pictures from this whole trip. Just imagine how beautiful it must be when there’s no fog at all!Luss: The cutest little village inside Loch Lomond parkThe Necropolis: a hauntingly beautiful Victorian cemetery. Most of these gravestones are from the 1800s!!

Mersey River: It was closed when we went, but I’ve heard great things about the Mersey River boat tours. They take you out on a Uboat to see all the sights of Liverpool!Anything Beatles is a MUST SEE in Liverpool! My personal fave was the CAVERN CLUB on Mathew Street. This is where the Beatles first gained popularity and is now one of the most famous and iconic venues in the world. We had such a fun time here, with local musicians playing their own music as well as covering the Beatles of course!
Back for one final night in L O N D O N
We made a stop at the Somerset House on our final night back in London. It was absolutely beautiful with the Christmas tree, and the lights made the building have the dreamiest pink glow. There was also ice skating in the rink in the center, and the building was open for tons of holiday shopping.
I had such a fun time in the UK this holiday and I’m already craving another adventure. Can’t wait to see where this new year takes me! Do any of you have any exciting trips planned in the new year? Let me know!
