Put together this little lookbook of some new pieces that are up on SFMW Vintage. I didn’t realize until afterwards that a bunch of our new stuff is plaid, and therefore perfect for fall, so we decided to make this into a Plaid Fall Lookbook. All of the plaid items in this lookbook are now available to purchase on SFMW Vintage, and the non-plaid items are all vintage or thrifted (minus the boots). Yay for helping the environment!
When it comes to incorporating some plaid into your Fall wardrobe, the easiest thing to start out with is a plaid flannel. These are so versatile as you can wear them as a shirt buttoned-up or even tied up (like I have in the pictures), wear them as a cardigan un-buttoned, or tie them around your waist for a super grunge 90s look. I also love the colour of this one since it’s a more muted pink which is so rare to find in plaid flannels. I decided to keep the rest of the outfit super casual and simple and opted for these vintage Levi’s straight-leg jeans. You can never go wrong with a classic pair of Levi’s, and I know vintage ones in smaller sizes are so hard to find, so of course I got you covered with this pair which fits a size 25-26 waist. Make sure to cop it before it’s gone for good!
You might not even be able to tell that there’s any plaid in the second outfit, but if you look closely and in the more close-up pictures, the skirt features a subtle check pattern. If prints and patterns aren’t really your thing, try incorporating it in a more subdued and faint way. Since this skirt is not in your face at all, I decided to have fun with the outfit and pair it with my favourite vintage Harley Davidson tee. Mixing prints and patterns works so well for an outfit like this. Since it’s Fall, we can’t forget about denim jackets! You might recognize the one I’m wearing since I’ve worn it on my blog before (as seen HERE), and this is a staple in my closet. I purchased this at the Rose Bowl Flea in California, but tons of vintage shops carry them.
For the last outfit, I wanted to rock this adorable little wool plaid dress. This dress is literally the cutest thing ever. It’s modest enough with the high neckline to wear to work with tights and a top underneath, but is also so fun to wear out on the weekend. It’s also finished off with a round self belt on the front which just adds to the charm of this dress even more. I know wool can feel a little itchy at times, so I layered this black turtleneck underneath which adds warmth at the same time. Win-win. Finished off the look with these black booties that literally go with every outfit (I wore the same boots in every outfit).
If you liked any of the pieces, make sure to check them out in the shop now. A ton of other Fall pieces have also been added, including fun blouses, fall maxi dresses, and others! Happy shopping!
Love this plaid look! Great post.
