but when the stars are the only things we share, will you be there?

How dreamy is this field of dahlias?! Full bloom and in the most perfect fall-toned colours, I knew I had to come visit while picking some flowers and taking some pictures. If you’re located in Toronto, this field is at Andrew’s Scenic Acres, a farm about 45 min away located in Milton. Make sure you go check it out NOW while the dahlias are still in full-bloom. They’ll be in full-bloom up until early October, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to twirl around in the most beautiful flower field your eyes have ever seen.

To allow the beauty in the colours of the dahlias to really stand out, I opted for an all-white dress. This dress is so friggin’ cute with the puff sleeves, sweetheart neckline and mini length. If you guys watch fashion videos on Youtube, you’ll most likely have heard of Jenn Im. Well this dress is from her clothing line, Eggie! As soon as she hauled it in her video, I knew I had to get my hands on it. It’s literally the most perfect LWD (little white dress). Since a LWD is the perfect canvas to accessorize with anything, I thought I would have some fun and pair it with these mustard colour velvet slides! The mustard colour matches perfectly with the flowers and the velvet material is always on-trend for the fall.

As if this flower field and this dress weren’t dreamy enough, this week’s song is also a dream and it comes from one of my favourite albums of all time… Benjamin Francis Leftwich’s song Atlas Hands off his debut album Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm. Although this album was released in 2011, it’s always been a favourite of mine and on heavy rotation, especially during this time of the year (and all throughout the winter too). All of the songs on the album are breathtaking, with the perfect mix of acoustics, slow melodies and hauntingly beautiful vocals to create an atmospheric, dreamy ambiance. I also had the chance to see Benjamin live last year, and it happened to be one of my favourite shows of the year (I wrote a blog post on my top 5 concerts of 2017 HERE). No fancy stage set up, no backing band, just him and his guitar, and it was the most beautiful thing ever. Hearing each song live was so raw and heartfelt, that who knew I was able to fall even more in love with his music.

Although each song off his debut album is beautiful, Atlas Hands happens to be one of the most popular songs off the album which is why I’ve featured it in today’s blog post. If you’ve never listened to anything by Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Atlas Hands is definitely the song to get you into him. The meaning behind this song is also very similar to the song that I featured last week (which you can read all about HERE), in that it was written at a time when in pursuit of his dreams, Leftwich’s life would also be leading him into the unknown world. Take a listen to it below and let me know what you think!

For now, I’m already dreaming of going back to the dahlia field next year…
