Glittery sheer top: Brandy Melville, Bralette: Aerie, Fur jacket: Winners, Straight-leg Jeans: Topshop
New Year’s Eve is just around the corner, so today I wanted to show you guys what I would wear for the special occasion. I’m not usually someone to get all dressed up, if you can tell by now, my style is very casual. This is what I would wear for a more casual NYE party, whether it be just a night-in with friends, or a laid back house party. Of course high waisted “mom” jeans are my go-to. They pair so easily with anything, and even for an occasion such as NYE, I love how they dress down a fur coat and glittery top.
Speaking of the glittery top I’m wearing, this one is great because the sparkle is so subtle, catching mostly in the light. If you’re not into anything too flashy, this top is a great option! They have tons of tops like this around now, and if the sheer-ness of it seems frightening, you can either pair it with a bralette underneath like I have, or even a camisole if you prefer more coverage.
Finally, I decided to pair the fur coat on top to give the entire outfit that NYE glam. It works to balance out the sheer-ness of the top, and the casual-ness of the jeans. I never thought a fur coat like this could be so versatile since they just seem so obnoxious, but it works perfectly for special occasions like this (and I even wore it as part of my Cruella de Vil costume this past Halloween!).
For the final song of the year, I decided to feature one by a duo that has had quite a successful breakout year – Sofi Tukker! Their music is quite different and unique in the sense that it utilizes various Brazilian instruments to create dance-y jungle-pop music, something we do not hear too much of these days. Their hit song Best Friend is such a fun and upbeat song, perfect for blasting on NYE while partying with all your best buds. I’ll definitely have this one on my playlist to help ring in the New Year.
Thanks again to everyone’s support this year with the blog. Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year. See you again in 2018!
